With Deana Paqua, MA, LMT

Learn the contemporary practice of Shamanic Journeying, based on ancient techniques to connect with the Spirit world to meet with benevolent guides, angels, nature spirits and ancestors for the purpose of obtaining guidance, self-healing and self-empowerment. Safely explore the world of Spirit, meet your Power Animal and learn how to work with helping spirits in everyday life to improve health, happiness, intuition, and connection to Mother Earth.

We will discover the history of Shamanism, how it has transformed as a contemporary practice, and learn about the practices of traditional Shamans and how they differ from other medicine people. We will also cover how to journey safely in sacred space, incorporating energy clearing and protection techniques along with some basic practices from the indigenous healers  and mystics of the Andes.

This is an introductory and foundational course for beginners and more practiced students to learn techniques for their own personal use. Most of us have the ability to journey and no previous experience is needed.

This course; however, is not training to become a “Shaman.” A Shaman is a medicine person who hails from specific tribes in Siberia, Mongolia and a few other places across the globe who have been given this title of honor by their community.

Contemporary Shamanic practices are open to all of us as we honor indigenous and cultures by respecting their titles and traditions, and sharing traditional teachings that we have been given permission to share.  In this way, we work with integrity and learn to connect to our own spiritual power, ancestry and guidance which will truly support our evolution, healing and growth for the highest good of all.
