This incredible botanical training, six years in the making is about to make its long-awaited debut. As a lover of both herbal medicine and botanical beverages, Herbalist Lupo Passero has been paying close attention in recent years to this botanical boom in the bar industry and has certainly been inspired and excited to see some of her favorite medicinal plants become a huge part of the cocktail/mocktail revolution. However, she was quick to notice that several of the specialty drinks she has been served, as a patron and as a judge at various local cocktail competitions, contained ingredients that, as a trained herbalist, she would not necessarily deem safe for consumption by all. THE PRACTICING HERBALIST - PRACTITIONER TRAINING PROGRAM
Is it time to take your herbal medicine studies to the next level? Would you like to learn how to begin to work with family, friends and community members to help them to find health and wellness through herbalism? Have you already studied herbalism and participated in courses earning over 300 hours of study? Then this course is for you! This nine-month immersion course is meant to help you take the steps to becoming an Herbal Practitioner. Skills you will learn include holistic approaches to disease, how to take a health history, traditional assessment skills, how to determine what herbal remedies to use, holistic counseling skills, and energetic medicines as well as a three-part training on traditional approaches to Ayurveda. Advanced herbal students will participate in a variety of experiences including, observing seasoned herbalists, round table learning exercises, putting your herbal education into practice and beginning to comfortably work with friends, family and community members.
Pre-requisites: Graduation from combined 300-hour herbal education programs and a Flower Essence Training* or ability to show equivalent training or mentorship is required. Students are expected to know basic anatomy and physiology, medicine making skills, flower essence therapy, and have compiled a materia medica portfolio.
*Twin Star’s Foundations of Herbalism, Practice and Protocol of Herbalism and The Art of Flower Essence Therapy courses are accepted pre-requisites.

In the Garden: Free summer plant Walk
Join us just before the Summer Solstice to gather in the garden and learn about a variety of medicinal plants, how to create botanical hydrosols, and start your own herbal grimoire!
Long-time ritual herbalist and Twin Star founder, Lupo Passero, will be teaching people the plants of summer through identification, ethical foraging and how to work with them. Botanical skin care creator and owner of Soil, Greta Aguirre, will be teaching people the water-medicine-magic of hydrosols and the ritual in distilling. Winter Solstice is almost upon us, on the shortest day of the year the earth is at its greatest distance from the sun, making the winter solstice the longest night of the year. The word solstice comes from the Latin sol stetit which literally means “sun standstill.“ Most likely this description came from the illusion caused by the suns position in the horizon. For six days around the time preceding and following the solstice the sun appears to rise and set in the same place. The sleeping earth is filled with magic and mystery. Days that have grown increasingly short, conclude with the celebration of Yule and the rebirth of the light. Along with Samhain, the winter solstice is one of the most widely celebrated of the ancient rituals and one of our favorites.

First Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm
During the 2023 cycle, each monthly theme will be aligned with the energy of the natural cycles of our lives and the land we live on. We will explore both the positive and the shadow qualities of each theme that each equally need to be witnessed and loved. We will do journey work and guided meditation, journaling, sharing, intentional crafting and talk about plant allies and practices that can support us as we make self-care a priority for the year.
Moon Sister, Rebekah Sutter, hosts the 2023 cycle of 13 Moons. She has attended Twin Star’s moon circle since 2013, and has help lead and hold the ever ebb-and-flowing sacred space.
13 Moons: A Women’s Healing Circle will be a private and sacred group, open to folks who identify as women and non-binary.
