Flower Printing and Eco Dyeing are techniques used to dye fabrics and papers by using whole plant parts to “print” flower and leaf images right onto a surface. This can be achieved in several ways with different plants and materials, so experimenting is fun - the possibilities are endless! Join Bekah with this hands on summer workshop where we will go over 2 techniques to dye with plants: Plant and Flower Hammering - where flowers and leaves are arranged and pounded into pre-mordanted fabric/paper, as well as Eco Dyeing - where flowers and plants are placed and rolled into a fabric and steamed to “print” plant patterns. You will go home with artful and herbal creations to enjoy.

Rebekah Sutter is a blossoming community herbalist & artist residing in the rolling hills of Northwest Connecticut. Her formal herbal studies began in the summer of 2013 through many of Twin Star Herbal Education's programs focusing on Western Herbalism studies, Flower Essence Therapy, Herbal Medicine Making, Plant Spirit Medicine, Goddess Archetype studies & more. She spends much of her time creating medicine and connecting with local community at Twin Star Community Apothecary in downtown New Milford, CT. Bekah's passion lies in combining the healing physical, energetic & plant spirit magic of the herbal world and creating beautiful hand-crafted herbal remedies and artwork.
