What You will LEARN
Meet Laura, your
Guide through the cosmos.
Laura Sanger Watkins has been studying astrology for almost forty years and has over 30 years of experience as an Astrological Counselor, and 7 years of experience teaching astrology. Laura is a Cross-Cultural Energy Healer specializing in Core Shamanism and Andean Mystical Practices and likes to combine modalities to heal herself and others. In her spare time, she likes to continuously study astrology, tarot, and spirituality as well as read naughty books about fairies and vampires. Laura gets crafty with yarn and beads. She also sings and plays guitar in an acoustic duo with her husband. Laura has a Sun, Venus, Mars, and Lilith stellium in Gemini in the 9th house, which probably explains everything.

“As a double Aquarius, I’m a sponge for knowledge and this course is full of it. Laura is a ball of bubbly energy and you can tell this is something she’s dedicated her life to studying. Understanding the full picture of my chart, not just my Sun and Rising signs, validates the way I’ve always felt and the things I’ve always been interested in. I’m mostly air and earth, so now I get why I feel the ways I do and, I know what to do to take better care of myself!”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Astrology is the study of the correlations between the positions of the planets in our solar system and events on Earth. It is a tool for understanding ourselves and our lives. Like other sciences, it is based on observation and its theories stand up against the test of reality.
-
Since ancient times, emperors, popes and kings have relied on astrologers for guidance. Astrology is cross-cultural and developed very similarly around the world. Today, it’s no longer reserved only for royals, but used by all people of all walks of life. Though it’s not restricted to the rich and ruling classes, J.P. Morgan did say, “Millionaires don’t use astrology, billionaires do.”
-
Would you sail the seas without a chart by which to navigate? Your natal chart is your personal map. It charts the skies at your birth moment from the viewpoint of your birthplace. It indicated your “high and low tides”, when your seas will be calm or stormy, and much more. Your chart is akin to the “hand of cards” you’ve been dealt, however, the concept of “free will” is ever-present. As Ptolemy said, “The stars impel, they do not compel”. Learning the language of astrology and understanding your particular natal chart can aid you in making more informed choices throughout your life.
-
It’s important to remember that astrological symbols are neutral. There are no good ones or bad ones, they just are. Each person is responsible for the way in which they embody their birth chart, and no astrologer can determine a person’s life trajectory from their birth chart alone. It is simply a blueprint for the happiest, most fulfilling, most spiritually creative growth path available to the individual.

No, this program is open to all beginners and those with experience. However, if you’d like to deepen your understanding of astrology further and how it corresponds with the plant kingdom, we highly recommend enrolling in our Astro-Herbalism Immersion, taught by Lupo Passero, Clinical Herbalism, star enthusiast, and gifted teacher! These are two highly complementary courses that inform the other.

Introduction to Astrology isn’t taught by just an astrology “nerd” (though she would welcome that title as well). Laura Sanger Watkins is a Professional Astrological Counselor, having studied astrology for 30+ years and practicing for the past 25. She has dedicated her life to understanding the language of the stars, and is your steadfast tour guide through the solar system!
