In the midst of harvest season, Samhain approaches October 31st. Said to be the Witch’s New Year, Samhain is a cross-quarter holy day, a mid point between the Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, celebrating the last harvest, our ancestors and beginning the the Wheel of the Year once more. Join us in preparing for our favorite season by learning about candle magic! For thousands of years, through world wide traditions and cultures, candles have been used in ceremony, ritual, blessings, prayer and spell-work. During this class we will explore various ways candle magic may be utilized to support healing, manifestation and intentional magic. We will go over a brief history of candle magic, different ways to use candles alongside healing herbs, and different candle crafting including making simple candles, mullein torches, and magic candle carving. Some of the elements we'll go over include: botanicals, aromatics, incorporating elements, color symbolism and more. In this hands on workshop we will carve magical intention candles for the Witch’s New Year! Candles, tools, magical botanicals, oils, and biodegradable glitter will be provided. If you have a special candle, herbs or oils you would like to use, please bring along. Warm up your magic and circle up!  

Bekah Sutter is a blossoming community herbalist & artist residing in the rolling hills of Northwest Connecticut. Bekah's passion lies in combining the healing physical, energetic & plant spirit magic of the herbal world with the creating of beautiful hand-crafted artwork and herbal remedies.

Twin Star will provide candles and other materials. Each participant will carve their own magical candle with personalized intentions to bring home.
