with Community Herbalist Haley Neddermann
***In the interest in keeping our community safe and well, please note that we are choosing to move this month’s PWW to an online platform, Zoom, due to the ongoing epidemic. If you sign up, please expect an email with instructions by Wednesday afternoon. You will need to have the Zoom app downloaded on your smart phone or computer! We hope this format works and provides us all a way to stay connected to each other and our plant friends! Be well, we hope look forward to seeing you all very soon!***
Wednesday March 18th, 6:30-8:30PM
There is a growing conversation about certain plants that are showing up in our backyards in abundance and what to do with them - plants like Japanese Knotweed, Japanese Barberry, honeysuckle, mugwort, bittersweet, and others They are often treated as a nuisance or viewed negatively because they tend to take areas and displace our beloved native species. But what if there is more to the story? What if these plants can offer us and the land potent medicine? Join Haley Neddermann for an overview of some of the invasive species in our area, and how we can use them as medicine and better understand their place in the landscape.
As an Herbalist & Flower Essence Practitioner, Haley hopes to inspire people to connect with the plants that grow around them, and empower them to incorporate those plants into their everyday life. What draws Haley in the most when studying herbal medicine, is learning about the ways plants help us heal on an emotional and spiritual level.
