Witch Crafting Wednesday: Magical Henna: Adorning the Body with Ashley Merritt

Join us for our new Wednesday Night Series: Witch Crafting Wednesday! This monthly drop-in event is witchy, creative and fun! Each month we will gather and learn about a mystical topic and create a handmade craft together. From crystals, to love potions, manifesting, to dream catchers and more, each gathering is meant to reignite your intuition, bring on the magical vibes, and light your inner creative fire. Come get witchy and crafty with us!

Henna, also known as Mehndi, is a dye prepared from the plant Lawsonia inermis. In this play-shop Ashley Merritt will introduce you into the world of healing henna. We will discuss traditional uses of the herb, use in modern age, as well as some techniques when applying henna. We will explore ways to use henna to adorn, empower and heal our sacred body temples. Each participant will go home with their own henna powder to mix at home and an applicator to continue practice and play. We will also take time to practice in class to understand the basics and feel more confident using henna on yourself, friends and family at home.

Ashley is an artist and reiki practitioner who has been studying wild edibles from a young age and 2 years ago took the dive into herbal medicine. She has been a practicing henna artist at local events such as The Hudson Valley Holistic Market and the Dover Plains Farmers Market. Ashley mixes her own henna paste and infuses it with reiki energy to give this already naturally healing plant an extra boost of love and healing energy.
