Using local plants like dogbane, nettle, milkweed, and cattail, students will turn raw material into soft, durable rope that can be used to make anything from a necklace, to a basket, to a bow string. We will also discuss methods of identifying, harvesting and processing your plants. Bring your own beads or personal touches for making bracelets or necklaces. Each Participant will go home with whatever they have made and the skills to make fiber from plants.
